If you have a teen or tween daughter living in your house, then you more than likely know all about the popular boy band, One Direction. I think my daughter is slightly obsessed with them. Which is why when a package arrived with a toothbrush that sings a One Direction song, she grabbed it and did a happy dance.
Hey, if a singing toothbrush gets my girl to brush her teeth, then I’m all for listening to it belt out a One Direction song for 2 minutes! The new ARM & HAMMER Tooth Tunes toothbrushes, launched in 2012, are a great way to get any kid brushing the right way!
While my camera-shy tween said there was no way I was going to take a picture of her brushing her teeth, she did say that she really likes her new One Direction toothbrush. She said — “I have to brush for a long time to hear the whole song!” Before, she didn’t realize that she just wasn’t brushing her teeth for the right length of time. Now, we both know she’s getting her teeth clean because the song acts as a built-in timer.
There is a button on the front that she can press to start the music, then it’s time to brush (and maybe dance a bit) until the music stops. There is also a nice little nub on the back, to keep the brush from slipping out of hands. I love that the toothbrush has a wide base that’s easy to grip. It also allows the toothbrush to stand up on its own, No need to have a toothbrush cup cluttering up the sink.
Her one and only wish was that the brush itself would rotate, but she said the vibrations of the brush still felt good on her teeth and gums.
From the makers of the #1 kids battery toothbrushes, ARM & HAMMER™ Tooth Tunes™ features one of a kind Music in Your Mouth™ technology. This proprietary technology streams sound vibrations from the bristles of the toothbrush through the teeth, allowing kids to hear the music while they brush.
As a mom, anything that can get my daughter excited about brushing her teeth, is a win in my book! Knowing she is following the dentist’s recommendation of brushing for two minutes, without a big back and forth ordeal, is a relief. The ARM & HAMMER Tooth Tunes featuring One Direction is the only toothbrushes that plays One Direction in North America. Plus, the toothbrushes come in several other “styles”, perfect for the music lover in your home:
- “All Day” performed by Cody Simpson
- “Dynamite” performed by Taio Cruz
- “I Gotta Feeling” performed by Black Eyed Peas
- “If I Ruled the World” performed by Big Time Rush
- “Round & Round” performed by Selena Gomez & The Scene

These are too cool. I think my 8 year old would like one of these.
They’re a lot of fun! I love that there are so many different tunes, I wouldn’t mind having one of the Hot Chelle Rae ones for myself!
I saw these in the store and wondered how they worked. My teen is slightly (cough) obsessed with One Direction too.
Slight is probably an understatement. My daughter just used her own money to buy a life size cut-out of Nial (is that how it’s spelled?) Oh boy!
Zoe absolutely loves her One Direction Tooth Tunes brush. It really works for her to brush the recommended amount of time to brush!
I love that this toothbrush is great for a range of ages!
Toothbrushes have really changed over the years! Whatever works right? :-)
They sure have! There are so many choices when you go to the store! I’m glad to find one that keeps my daughter happy!
Fantastic information! Thanks for sharing this. Kids totally love One Direction so, this can be one great motivation for them.
This is one of the greatest ideas I’ve seen for toothbrushes!
We thought so, too!
Ohh I need these for my children. 2 minnutes would help them, I think!
The built in “Timer” of the song is my favorite feature :)
My ten year old son knows all these songs. :) We are actually getting one the beginning of next week… my son doesn’t know. I think he’ll be excited. Glad your daughter likes it.
He is going to love it! there’s nothing like a cheery song in the morning to wake you up and get you moving!
What a neat idea! Brush til the music stops is a good way to teach how long to brush!
I actually have a 32 year old friend who is a big One Direction fan! I bet she already owns this toothbrush!
We Will Rock You?!? I love it – my daughter (4) loves that song – it would totally help her brush her teeth. My son…hmmm…too bad they don’t have “Afrocircus” from the Madagascar movie :)
I love One Direction. But not up to my teeth. Anyway, I have a niece who’s really fond of this group and it’s great that you came up with an idea of giving an attraction to young girls.
This is an really nice….i planning to gift this to my niece but its not available in market from where i should place order for it??
Actually its really good…my niece playing with it and alone start to brush her teeth. Thanks!!
