This Earth Month (from March 30 – April 30, 2012), you can show how much you care for our world by taking the free Mayor’s Challenge for Water Conservation pledge to conserve energy and water. When you pledge, you’re not only pledging to save water and money but you could also win great prizes for yourself and your state!
By taking the pledge, I have made a positive impact! Over a on year period, we will have saved 348228.5 of water, put 1318 less pounds into a landfill, not used 75 plastic water bottles and saved over $900! It’s super quick and easy to take and easy to stick to at home! I was proud to see that our city is ranking in the top 5 in our region! You can learn more about the Mayor’s Challenge by visiting the EcoFlow Facebook page.
The Mayor’s Challenge is a friendly competition between residents of cities across the U.S., in which mayors will be asking their residents to make a free, online pledge to conserve water, save money and reduce pollution. Residents in the cities with the most participants will qualify to win hundreds of prizes, including a Toyota Prius c Hybrid grand prize, Rain Bird Custom-Designed Sprinkler Systems, STERLING Water-Saving Toilets, Lowe’s Gift Cards and Waterpik® EcoFlow® shower heads.
To help get my family started with our pledge, we received a Waterpik EcoFlow shower head with 5 Spray Settings. This shiny new hand held head will help our family save up to 1 gallon of water per minute — and up to $100 annually1!
1. Based on two 10-minute showers per day. Water, gas and sewer costs based on national average and U.S. Department of Energy estimates. Water costs: $2.67/1,000 gal.; sewer costs: $2.67/1,000 gal.; gas costs: $16.00/1,000 cf.
We aren’t sacrificing any power since the Waterpik’s OptiFLOW® technology improves water force by up to 30%. This POWERSPRAY head also comes fully loaded with five setting allowing us to choose between a Full Body spray, Circular Massage, powerful PowerSpray™, rejuvenating Circular Massage + Mist or a gentle Misting Spray.
My husband and I chose to put this water saving shower head in our children’s bathroom. We have a teenager and a tween and sometimes it seems like one or the other is always in the shower! Once they get into the shower, it’s hard to get them out!
The Waterpik EcoFlow was very easy for my husband to install. After removing our old shower head, which was a very horrible old gunked up thing, the new head simply screwed on to the existing wall mount with no problems at all.
We think the low-flow, anti-gunk showerhead will do a good job of helping our children conserve water! I haven’t had a chance to try it out myself but they both like it and they really like that it has a long 5 foot hose so that they can easily wash their hair. With a lifetime warranty, I’ll have plenty of opportunity to give it a go. {I’m excited to use it on Ginger Dog soon!}
