Did you know that more than 49 million American struggle with hunger. That’s one in six Americans who may not know where their next meal is coming from. They could be your neighbors, your child’s friend, yourself. Hunger affects all ages, all races, in all walks of life, and from all backgrounds.
Hamburger Helper and GRAMMY® winning country artist, Tim Mcgraw, have partnered together to help get the word out about Feeding America®. With your help, we can all participate in the goal to deliver millions of meals to local food banks nationwide. According to Feeding America, 5.7 million Americans will receive emergency food assistance from the organization in any given week! You may have recently seen Tim Mcgraw’s public service announcement asking you to get involved, and may be wondering what you can do to make a difference. It’s so easy to Show Your Helping Hand to our fellow Americans by donating and/or purchasing Hamburger Helper with specially marked codes on the box!
Support the “Show Your Helping Hand” campaign by submitting the codes from specially marked boxes of Hamburger Helper at www.showyourhelpinghand.com or by logging on to make a donation. Hamburger Helper has already donated more than half a million dollars and will contribute up to an additional $100,000 to Feeding America through this program.
Don’t think one code will make a difference? The 17 cents Hamburger Helper donates per code is enough for Feeding America to deliver one meal to a local food bank.
We eat hamburger Helper at least two or three times a month, sometimes more when we’re busy. Think how many meals your family could provide during this campaign! You have plenty of time to participate as this year’s codes will be accepted until December 31, 2011. So get yourself a box of specially marked Hamburger Helper and enter the code today!
Win It Here!
I’m excited to be able to offer a prize pack like I received to one lucky winner. The winner’s pack will include a box of Hamburger Helper skillet meals, a Hamburger Helper foam Helping Hand and a copy of Tim McGraw’s Southern Voice CD. Since I don’t tweet, I can’t do the mandatory entry. To help out, I do want to suggest that schools could collect these as a service project, like they collect Boxtops for Education.
Hi Nancy, I wasn’t thinking when I posted this, I’ve changed it so that the mandatory entry is tweeting AND/OR commenting with the tip, so your entry does count. Anyone else that doesn’t tweet will be able to enter now as well. Thank you for reminding me that not all of my readers are tweeters! :)

I have not specifically encouraged others to join with Hamburger Helper/Feeding America’s fight against hunger. I do give to the local Food Bank and to the Food Closet and Soldier’s Closet at the local military base. These people give so much so that I can live in a democratic country with all of these freedoms and do it on so little pay.

I work at a University, posting flyers in classrooms and hallways would get the word out…and, Hamburger Helper is so so easy to make, even a college kid could make it.
