Ginger playing with the new Toys“R”Us Pets collection

Our Ginger dog loves her toys, as you probably know by now! She has a whole basket full of a variety of toys and balls behind the couch and we love adding new toys for her to enjoy. Recently we received a box filled with the brand new Toys“R”Us Pets collection dog toys from PetSmart. 

“Our pet parents consider their pets family, and in many cases, their pets are like children to them” 

At first, I thought it was a bit odd for pet toys to have the Toys“R”Us name. Once I thought about it though, pets are like to children to so many families, ours included, so why not develop toys that will stimulate pets senses while encouraging them to be smarter, healthier and happier? I think it’s a great idea! When we opened the box and I saw how adorable the pet toys were, I knew that I would be seeking them out again. The Toys“R”Us Pets collection features over 100 pet toys for your favorite pet.

Each toy is designed to enhance your furry friend’s mental, psychological and emotional development. Genius! I absolutely love that they look so much like a child’s toy. 

The Toys R Us® Pets Safari puppy has  really cute “teether” hands and feet while Ginger’s favorite toy, the Patterned Body Canvas Caterpillar, has a squeaker in each section of the caterpillar’s body! 

The duck toy has both a rope handle for fun tug-of-war play sessions, as well as a big squeaker in the center. Ginger’s second favorite toy, the Spiky Ball Body w/Rope Arms and Legs, has a large neon pink ball in the center that probably feels great on Ginger’s old gums when she chews it. I can tell that Ginger enjoys these pet toys because they are still in one piece after a month of frequent play. 

When Ginger doesn’t like a toy, she shreds it immediately. When she does like a toy, she will play with it for awhile and gently carry it around with her, with an occasional nibble {see caterpillar’s neck}, until she’s tired of the toy. Then, she’ll shred it.

I think it’s her way of saying, “Okay mom, I’m ready for something new!” So far, so good.

Ginger and I both love that the whimsical pet toys are made with a variety of fun materials like rope, squeakers, plush and rubber. There are even some toys that will dispense treats! I think Ginger would love that! The toys are made super fun by the added bright colors and various textures so that both pets and owners can enjoy them together!
