Equal Exchange is one of the United State’s leading Fair Trade food and beverage brands. They are also a worker-owned company — one of the largest in the United States. For more than 25 years, Equal Exchange has been building on their mission to “create long-term trade partnerships that are economically just and environmentally sound, to foster mutually beneficial relationships between farmers and consumers and to demonstrate, through their success, how the contribution of worker-operatives and Fair Trade can help to build a more equitable , democratic and sustainable world.”

In short, when you purchase from or hold a fundraiser with Equal Exchange products — you are supporting small farming communities around the world. Whether you are raising funds for a trip, activity, congregation, community or school group — Equal Exchange fair trade products are an excellent choice for any fundraising event that you may need to organize. They have worked with thousands of community groups to hold successful holiday fundraiser sales with Equal Exchange products.

Now through November 15, when you sign up to learn more about fundraising with Equal Exchange, you will receive a free packet of useful info in the mail. Plus, you’ll be entered to win $500 worth of Equal Exchange products–including a tablecloth, gift wrap, two boxes of chocolate minis, two cases of candy bars, a case of canned coffees, and more!

We had the opportunity to try out several Equal Exchange products and were very pleased with them. The Organic Proud Mama Coffee is a rich blend with hints of caramel, chocolate and savory spices, it is wonderful in the morning and the purchase of this organic coffee supports women farmers who are “becoming leaders and sending their children to school.” I plan to gift the Organic Bountiful Decaf Coffee to my Aunt who is involved in packing shoe boxes for children. I think she will enjoy knowing that her gift is a fair trade product.

With cocoa beans grown in the  Dominican Republic, organic sugar cane from small-scale farmers in Paraguay and organic milk powder from Organic Valley co-op located in the United States, the Organic Hot Cocoa Mix that we sampled is a creamy, chocolatey treat that everyone will love this holiday season.

Organic Chocolate Holiday Minis will make a perfect stocking stuffer or bazaar sale item at your fundraiser. They come in Milk or Dark Chocolate mini bars and are soy and gluten free. Plus, they are delicious! The beautiful Handmade Gift Wrap that we received is made by Indian artisans from recycled cotton. It is a high quality gift wrap and will be sure to make a statement to whomever you have on your holiday gift list.
