Even though I have been neglecting my garden this year, there are still some successes tucked away. In between the obnoxious weeds, there are a few surprises.
each of the tomato plants have tiny fruits dangling in various shapes and sizes
a lone zucchini plant holds a bright summer squash with the promise of more in its pretty yellow-orange blooms
a sad little cucumber bush teases with a prickly green baby
last year’s carrots, left to seed over-winter, beg to be sniffed with their lacy flowerheads

I love the carrots! I’ve never seen carrots gone to seed before. Our whole garden died, it seems. The heat is too much – but we’re gearing up for a winter garden :)
I was really surprised about the huge flower heads on those carrots.. if they can even be called that anymore, lol! They’ve been in the bed since last spring and really, there are no carrots under the dirt ;)
awesome!! i am still praying that my vegetables grow and ripen..i don’t know why but i am worried and concerned..sigh
I hope that they do too! Our garden is pitiful this year, I’ve only shown the best parts ;)
I am so jealous!!
Don’t be! You should have seen it the day before, it hadn’t rained for a week. I’m surprised there’s anything left at all!
Your garden is looking pretty good! And, I NEVER weed our garden. If weeding happens, it is because my husband is awesome!
I have been bad too!I didn’t even plant one of my gardens this year. I only have half my big garden weeded right now.You have more then me though!
I have been neglecting my garden too this year. It’s just been so hot. But, your tomatoes look great!!

Neglecting your garden – HA! You wanna see a neglected garden, come visit mine. Yours is florishing!
Go you!!! I tried growing cilantro this year & it died two days after it sprouted. Oops.
Oh man how I wish I did a garden this year!
Looks great!! Your cucumber is funny looking! i love when the veggies get all misshapen! Still taste good!
Nice veggies. I love the flowers they produce!
One day…oh one day…I will have a vegetable garden to keep my drumstick plant company. Great job Henrietta!
I wish I was more inclined to work the earth. I’m afraid I’m more inclined to let other people do it for me!
Your neglected garden looks awesome!
It’s been too hot, at least around here, to work much outside around here. Your garden is still doing great, though!
I love gardens! Nice surprises!
Great job!! Love garden pictures
Right on! We used to have a garden at our home in FLorida. Nothing beats fresh veggies!
I want to garden!! :) I need a backyard first.. lol
at least you can grow something, on the other hand I can kill anything.
Beautiful! Our garden is dying from the heat wave here despite watering multiple times a day. :(
Looks great to me! Good job – I wish mine looked like that!
Beautiful! I refused to water my garden with the heat we have had (We are on a well.) So it is a sad, sad garden this year. I love seeing happy garden pictures to remind me that it has potential when it isn’t so hot!
Woohooo, sadly my garden would be dead!!
It looks great!!! I think we’re almost at the end of what ours is gonna produce this year – there are tons of tomatoes right now! :)
IT looks really good. I decided I was going to garden this year and then just never did it:(
It looks great! I wish I had done one this year!
I’m so jealous of your squash – squash vine borers keep destroying ours.
That’s what carrot flowers look like?! Wow, your garden is doing great. I’m sure those zucchinis will make fabulous zucchini bread!
You really have a wonderful garden and your plants are very healthy. I was thinking about the idea of starting a small garden at my backyard. Thanks for sharing this with us and i’m looking forward to read more from you.
I failed utterly at gardening this year. All i got from the garden was two cucumbers and a few tomatoes that the kids ate right off the vine. All my yellow squash and pumpkins died without producing a thing. but then, I WAS 7-9 months pregnant during the time when The garden needed attention. I did not water as much as I should have, and never got around to composting or fertilizing at all. that could have something to do with it…
