My Take
I made a delicious and quick dinner before Pie’s cheer leading practice Tues. I sauteed chunked chicken breast in olive oil with fresh green peppers, green onions, rosemary, Italian seasoning, garlic, salt & pepper, topped the Atkins’ Penne Pasta with my favorite jarred Tomato Basil sauce, the chicken mixtures and some shredded extra sharp cheese. I served it with boxed Texas Toast. It was so god! The pasta wasn’t heavy tasting like so many others are, it had a light yet substantial taste to it and the whole family enjoyed the meal.
Unfortunately I can’t say the same about the All Purpose Baking Mix. I made a batch of blueberry pancakes following the recipe on the back of the bag. I was the only one that would touch the pancakes. They weren’t too bad, a little different from my usual, but I could probably get used to them. The rest of the family though – a no from them :(
So…
Atkins’ new cuisine line fits perfectly into a low-carb lifestyle. Plus, they make cooking and baking easy. And, when you try them with one of Atkins’ cool recipes like Penne with Fresh Tomatoes, Lemon and Feta or Rich Chocolate Brownies, you won’t feel the slightest bit guilty about indulging.
To celebrate the launch of these new products, Atkins has announced an online recipe contest where you can share your own recipe featuring the All Purpose Baking Mix or Penne Pasta and win great prizes. Recipes can be submitted to atkins.com by September 30, 2009.
