I was so excited when MyBlogSpark™ recently asked me to review the New Chex Mix Turtle Bars by General Mills! I have to say that I really love Chex Mix. When they came out with the Turtle Chex Mix I was hooked. In fact, I haven’t bought it in quite awhile because I find myself munching & munching on the bag and before you know it, the bag is EMPTY! lol. It tastes so good! When I heard about these bars I couldn’t wait to try them!
At less than 150 calories per bar I can stop at just one instead of mindlessly eating the whole bag of pieces! The bars are Oh So Much Better anyway! They are gooey, sticky, sweet, crunchy and salty all at the same time! It’s like biting into a little piece of Heaven :) If you need a treat to cure a sweet craving attack, this is what you want to reach for! They have a wonderful caramel and chocolate flavor that stays with you, there’s no funny aftertaste just sweetness. The bottom of the bar has the sticky caramel layer. It almost tastes like a bar cookie my Gramma used to make, very comforting and satisfying! With 8 grams of whole grain per serving they have some nutrition as well!
After I bit into the first bar what I really wanted to do was hide the remainder of that box AND the other box in the back of the cupboard all for myself. But, since I am a good Momma I shared. My daughter’s eyes lit up at her first bite, My son keeps eating them and the hubby asked me to get some more. We’ll be enjoying these for a quick treat often!
