Frozen pizza is usually just that.. frozen pizza, it tastes like every other pizza with nothing to set it apart. I expected a good dinner and a decent tasting pie when I picked up two Freschetta pizzas for supper on Friday. I didn’t expect to like them better than the walmart pizza we usually buy. The smell while baking was mouthwatering, yeasty and fresh. They looked almost exactly like they were pictured on the boxes too, gotta love that! I couldn’t find the new Zesty Italian or Roasted Garlic and Spinach Freschetta FlatBread pizzas, bummer, so we tried the 4-cheese Naturally Rising Bake to Rise and the Pepperoni Brick Oven Fire Baked Artisan crust pizzas instead.
Yum! They were both completely different from each other and both amazing! I loved the crisp chewiness of the Fire Baked crust with the slightly spicy pepperoni. The crust on the Bake to Rise pizza was so soft, it truly did not taste like frozen pizza, the bottom crust stayed soft and chewy – so good! The kids preferred it to the Fire Baked one but I really loved them both. I thought the price was about the same as other high quality frozen pizza at $5,45 each. Definitely worth it . I’d love to try them sliced into strips and served with dipping sauce next time and will be on the prowl for the Roasted Garlic and Spinach one!

I don't believe I've had a Freschetta pizza. I love mushrooms and extra cheese on my pizza.
I love everything on Pizza – but one of the best I've had was a Shrimp pizza. Sounds (and looks) strange, but it's delicious.

My favorite pizza toppings when I'm making them at home are artichoke hearts, roasted red bell pepper strips, sauteed mushrooms, and gorgonzola cheese. I've tried Freschetta pizza before and they really do taste good and fresh – the crust is really good and not cardboard-y at all.
