My family’s #sogoodsosweet Moments!

It’s Springtime and that means we’ll soon be able to get out and about to all of the places our state has to offer. Some of my favorite family moments are the ones we create by  hopping into the car for a road trip to a zoo, park or other attraction. My Dad always surprised me with road trips when I was a kid so it is a tradition that I am passing on to my own children now that Grandpa is no longer with us. Usually these outings are unplanned and unexpected, aren’t those oftentimes the best?

Last summer we went on several fun family day trips, one that stands out was a visit to Deer Park. About an hours drive, visiting this small family-owned animal park is always a great place to get up close and personal with the animals and your family! 

Even though the day we chose to visit was a sweltering hot one, we managed to have a great time together! I love being able to unplug from everyday life and focus fully on my family. We hand fed the deer and zebras, petted the miniature horses, oohed and ahhed over the tigers only feet away, giggled and laughed at the llamas and alpacas, even the usually grumpy teen had a fun time!

Seeing the kid’s smiling faces and hearing them chatter and laugh together are the simple joys of life. I don’t think it really matters what we do together, or where we go, as long as we can have fun. Creating sweet moments like this really puts things into perspective for me, it makes me realize what a truly wonderful life I have, how very very lucky I am to have this family and quickly it all flies by. Do you celebrate the sweet simple things in life with your family?
