Harry Connick Jr. releases new album titled Your Songs

New Orleans native, Harry Connick Jr. has been indulging his musical passion since the age of 3! His career has been studded with awards and recognition, including several multi-platinum and gold albums, 25 million albums sold worldwide, Grammy, Tony and Emmy Awards; Oscar and Golden Globe nominations, and so much more.

Released today Harry’s 25th album, “Your Songs” is a collaboration between Harry and legendary record company producer, Clive Davis. Clive chose most of the album’s songs while Harry arranged and orchestrated them! His unique voice will be soothing your soul as he sings classic songs by some of the greatest musicians of all time with a full jazz big band and string orchestra!

My View

While I love Harry’s originals, “Your Songs” has a nice sexy feel to it. The songs are all ones that I know and can sing along to if I want. I absolutely love the way he makes each and everyone of them his own! You can almost forget that they AREN’T his originals! I’ve got to say the best part of the CD is hearing how Harry has interpreted each song individually. His arrangements suite the songs so well and each one has it’s own unique feel. My personal favorites are

  • “Close to you” – I love how he has made this so upbeat and you can hear the smile in his voice.
  • “Besame Mucho” – Ooh La La! This one just makes me melt, I love the sultriness of Harry’s voice! Serenade please!
  • and “Your Song” – I like the tempo and the way his voice sounds pouty and it’s just a great song!

This CD makes me wish I knew how to dance! Where are my white gloves and heels?
