Wordless Wednesday – Blue Sky Blue Jay #ww

blue jay bird pennsylvania

Note: D’oh! I just realized that today is Tuesday — not Wednesday! Oh dear, I need more coffee! Oh well, I’m leaving the post up =) Happy Tuesday all!

The Blue Jays have been having a grand time at our bird feeder this week! With the cold temps, we’ve tried to keep it full for all of the wild birds. I do get wary of it though, at least once every other day, I hear a loud thunk.

Oh dear! Another bird has flown into the window. I cannot understand it! I have looked at the window from outside and there is no reflection. The window has a white grid pattern over the glass and there are curtains partially covering it, not to mention the mini blinds. Thank goodness they always fly away afterwards, but it sure does scare Ginger Dog! She leaps from her cozy bed and runs to the widow whining and yipping! Silly Jays! At least they look pretty against the blue sky while they perch in my plum tree!

Nice pictures you got there!! Wow. We don’t have any bird feeders in our yard because we have too many other wild animals.

Haha! I used my point and shoot Nikon CoolPix S8200 (because I was too lazy to find the G5) and pressed the camera sideways up against the window. the tree is about 6 feet from our living room window. I have always loved the photos this little camera gives me!

What beautiful photographs. I’ve never seen a blue jay in person.

I love them as they are a large bird, but they can chase away the smaller birds. In the summer, I try to keep out different feeders for them. They have a loud call that is fun to listen for!

Your Blue Jays are so pretty and fluffy! We get Blue Jays in our bottle brush tree in the front yard every day and they screech at us. They aren’t quite as fluffy and cute!
