Frozen treats are one of summer’s guilty pleasures and we’ve sure eaten our share of them! Blue Bunny Ice Cream is one of our favorite brands, they have such a huge assortment of frozen goodies ranging from awesome ice cream flavors to novelty snacks of all kinds. The newest additions to the Blue Bunny Ice Cream product line are fun and tasty!
The new Blue Bunny Mini Champ!® Mini Swirls Ice Cream Cones, Mini Variety Ice Cream Sandwiches and Champ!® Mini Swirl Birthday Party Ice Cream Cones are an awesome new way to get your ice cream fix! Too often I find that my family and I are eating huge portion sizes when it comes t our ice cream consumption. This has not been the greatest thing for my waistline and it certainly is NOT a healthy habit to get into with the kids.
The thing is, I don’t realize how much of it we’re eating until afterwards, when the groans of OH I’m Soooo full ring out across the room. Our eyes are usually bigger than our heads! With the new Blue Bunny Mini Novelty Treats I can feel a little less guilty about having a cool treat.
I just can’t over how adorable and tiny these ice cream treats are! Don’t worry though, they are NOT too tiny! While they ARE the perfect size for little toddler hands, they have an even better benefit for big kids too, in my opinion — serving size.
Serving Sizes have grown out of proportion wherever I go. Last week the family and I stopped at an ice cream stand and ordered medium cones thinking it would be two small scoops instead of one. Those medium cones were GIANT, three large scoops. We ate them because there’s no way I wanted to be wasteful but my goodness it was too much!
I was so happy to see that the ice cream sandwiches {my favorite with the crunchy chocolate cookie and real ice cream – yum!} only have 100 calories per bar in them! Wow! that is awesome, I can eat one as an afternoon snack and satisfy my sweet tooth without going overboard! The mini cones have 140 and the birthday party ones only 160, not bad at all! We decided to go see what grandma and grandpa thought of our new-fangled treats on this very hot day :)
Think my mom and step-dad liked seeing me run across the driveway to their house with an armful of ice cream? Yep! they did! They liked helping us eat some even more though! {see, this is the plus side of living next to your moody grown up children mom!}
Being a diabetic, my mom really is NOT supposed to be eating sugary sweets and things like this that she likes. However, these smaller portioned ones are something she thinks she could have on hand for when that craving just will not go away.
Here’s what my daughter and her friend had to say:
“They are mini and really yummy. I like them because they are teeny and some have sprinkles and chocolate on them and they also have vanilla and chocolate for the ice cream sandwhiches!!!!They are AWESOME & WEIRD!!!!! =) =D”
“I think that they are yummy because they are small and they are good and they have CHOCOLATE!!!!! Some have sprinkles and 1 of them is a sandwich and 1 is chocolate and vanilla together!!! They are AWESOME!!!!!!!!!! =D =P”
