With the rising cost of everything from gas to food to utilities, many families are trying to save money in any way that they can. One big expense that most families with children of any age have, is insurance and prescription medications. If you are underinsured, or uninsured, worrying about how will afford medications when your child is ill can be stressful.
If you are shopping around for affordable drug coverage, and happen to have local Walgreens, you may want to check into the Walgreens Prescription Savings Club that they offer to their customers.
Membership in the savings club is available to those of all ages and can be purchased for the family or as an individual. Currently, Walgreens is offering their annual memberships at a steep discount. Individuals can join for just $5.00, while families will pay only $10 per year. A family plan can include you, a spouse, dependents aged 22 or younger and even some pets. This special price ends January 31st, 2012.
There are over 8,000 medications covered under the plan in both generic and name-brand form with more than 400 generic medications priced conveniently at $12 for a 90-day supply. Besides saving on prescription medications, as a member you will also be eligible to receive discounts on flu shots, pet prescriptions, nebulizer and diabetic supplies as well as weight loss, birth control and smoking cessation medications. You’ll be able to quickly see drug prices and which medications are covered under the plan on the Walgreens website and easily mange your account online, via telephone or in store.
Once you are a Walgreens Savings Club member, you will be automatically enrolled in the Walgreens Bonus Program where you can earn a 10% bonus any Walgreens brand products and photo finishing services purchased at Walgreens. The bonuses will be loaded onto your Savings Club card to be applied to future purchases.
