{almost} Wordless Wednesday – Hillbilly Raised Bed #ww
June 12, 2013 By Henrietta 3 Comments

I am still alive, promise! Summer is kicking my butt though and I haven't really had time to blog. Today, I finally planted the veggie plants in the raised beds. It took me 3 1/2 hours to weed out last year's junk and get my plants in the ground. Then I had to rig up a hillbilly barricade fence around them to keep the chickens out. I kid you not, they are out there as I type circling the beds like little vultures! Also, this is a photo from a couple of weeks ago but I just love this tiny … [Read More...]

This is what is happening tonight. My first born is graduating from high school! *tears* I know I haven't been around much on the blog or online. Graduation is really getting to me! It's so hard to see him in this cap and gown and I can barely believe that my son is no longer a high school student! He has been accepted to our local college, he has received just about enough in grant money to pay for his first year of tuition. Today just marks a new chapter in all of our lives! Last Wednesday, … [Read More...]

It's just about summertime and the temperatures sure have been showing it! The last week has been a sultry 85 - 90 degrees with no break coming in the near forecast. With my son out of school and my daughter only having a few days left, we are ready to relax! I love summer because it means trips to the lake, gardening, tank tops, flip flops and shorts. What I don't love is constantly worrying about whether or not my legs and underarms are too hairy to skip shaving on any particular day! That's … [Read More...]

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Miracle-Gro for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine. Gardening should be fun! I love to garden but I have to admit that I am guilty of having big plans then failing because I forget to keep the plants watered, or I end up watering my plants too much and drowned them. This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Tree Hut for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine. School will be out in just a couple of weeks and that means summer vacation is about to begin! I can't wait for the lake to warm up so we can visit the beach and spend long lazy hours listening to the waves and soaking up some sun! My poor hands and feet however are feeling neglected and dry after a long cold winter. Instead of hiding them in shoes and under beach towels, I have … [Read More...]

Banish Dark Circles and Fine Lines with Belli Skin Care Eye-Brightening Cream
May 10, 2013 By Henrietta 4 Comments

As moms, we know how hard all of the running, errands, and activities can be on our schedules! I know even though my kids are older, I still don't get enough sleep! Add that to genes and you get some dark under eye circles that are enough to wake the living dead! I try to use an under-eye product daily, at least to help smooth out any fine lines that I have and hopefully make those dark circles look a little brighter. Belli recently sent me a tube of their Eye-Brightening Cream to try out. I've … [Read More...]

May 14, 2013 By Guest Author 1 Comment

Recently I have been introduced to the joys of velcro. It all started when was browsing in the fabric department of Wal-Mart when I met a friendly and very chatty lady (Lisa.) We were both looking at the same fabric – the panel kind that you can use to make pillows and she started up [...]
