{almost} Wordless Wednesday – Hillbilly Raised Bed #ww

I am still alive, promise! Summer is kicking my butt though and I haven’t really had time to blog. Today, I finally planted the veggie plants in the raised beds. It took me 3 1/2 hours to weed out last year’s junk and get my plants in the ground. Then I had to rig up a hillbilly barricade fence around them to keep the chickens out. I kid you not, they are out there as I type circling the beds like little vultures!

Also, this is a photo from a couple of weeks ago but I just love this tiny little egg!

I want to plant. We have so many critters in and out of the yard though and it scares me. That’s a lot of work to put in to have the wild animals come and eat it all in one fell swoop.

The little egg is cute. :)

We don’t have a garden. There are way too many wild animals and birds around here for that.

I share you pain about trying to keep the chickens out of the garden. We finally had to put ours in the back/back fenced yard because they kept digging up the garden. I hate it though because they are such good de-buggers. I have heard that there is a breed that is good to eat the bugs but leave the plants alone.
