I’m an #Orville Redenbacher’s SmartPop! Ambassador!

SmartPop

I am so excited to announce that I have been selected as one of ten lucky Orville Redenbacher’s SmartPop! Ambassadors this month! As an ambassador I will be sharing my opinions on the SmartPop! popcorn as well as participating in the “Healthy Snacking Challenge.” I was glad to learn that I would be able to take part in this challenge since healthy eating is one area of life that I’ve been struggling with this year.

Part of my snacking problem is that we usually have too many different snack foods in the house due to everyone liking something different! When I heard about the Healthy Snacking Challenge, I knew that it could be a success for my family because we all love popcorn! The challenge is super easy too — all I have to do is substitute Orville Redenbacher’s SmartPop! for my usual snack cravings!

SmartPop! Ambassador 2012

SmartPop! is a great choice for a daily snacker like me — each 6 cup serving has only 100 calories! That is crazy! Besides being 100% whole grain and 94% fat free, SmartPop! is also a great source of fiber and has zero grams of trans fat.

That makes this popcorn a much healthier snack choice over pretzels {that I like} or potato chips {that my family likes}.

We tried our first package of Orville Redenbacher’s SmartPop! popcorn last night for snack time. So far, my favorite feature is that this microwave popcorn comes already packaged in its own Pop Up Bowl — it’s the “Bag That Needs No Bowl” — how smart is that? The paper bowls remind me of the old-time fast food hats, lol! I love them since it means one less dish for me to wash!

During my Healthy Snacking Challenge, I’ll also be visiting Orville Redenbacher’s Facebook page to print a $1.00 off coupon so I can stay stocked up on popcorn for snacking. I noticed on the website that there are mini bags available and I can’t wait to try them!

Also, I am pretty excited to try out the Pop Cam game on their Facebook page, you have to hook up your web cam and then catch the popcorn in your mouth :). Sounds fun and may even be easier than real life popcorn catching!

Join me next week as I will be sharing thoughts on how I’ve been incorporating Orville Redenbacher’s SmartPop! popcorn as a healthy snack option. Plus, there just might be a surprise for you!

  2. Congratulations on being an Ambassador! We love popcorn around here, too!

  3. Wow — 6 cups only has 100 calories. Now that’s a huge snack.

  4. Love the pop-up bowl! Less waste and less dishes – yeay!

  5. Congratulations! I’m so excited for you and hope you have a great time during the campaign. Popcorn (without loads of artificial butter) is much healthier than many snacking options so let me know if it helps in steering the cravings!

  6. OH what a yummy ambassador to be!!! Congrats how exciting!

  7. We LOVE popcorn here and those bowls are so cool!

  8. Yay how fun! I think I’m the only person in the entire world who isn’t a fan of popcorn. I eat it though. I will definitely check for this for the family on movie night!

  9. Congrats on your ambassadorship! I love popcorn & we ALWAYS get Orville! Yummm!

  10. now that’s my kinda popcorn great for muchin even when your on a diet!

  11. Those pop up bowls are really neat! I love popcorn as an easy, low fat snack!

  12. Congrats! Sounds like a great opportunity for you. Should be interesting to see how the family reacts to “healthy” snacks since a lot of people wouldn’t consider popcorn to be that healthy since the version they sell at movie theaters has so many fat grams.
