Stories from the Bright Side – I won’t eat that! #hfbrightside

This post is brought to you by Happy Family™ via Burst Media. While I have been compensated for my time, the opinions and stories expressed herein are 100% real!

Anyone with young children in the home knows that it can often be a challenge to get your children to eat what you want them to eat. Most of the time the kids have their own ideas on how they should spend their meal times! Happy Family™ recently partnered with a few top mommy and daddy bloggers to bring some of their Funny Feeding stories to life. Even Happy Family™ CEO and founder, Shazi Visram,  shares her “We’ve Tried Everything” story.

Each video features a feeding story in a humorous way that parents can relate to. Happy Family™ wants to encourages us to share our own “Stories from the Bright Side” on Happy Family’s Facebook App for a chance to win a great prize (see below).

My Picky Kids

While my kids are much older now, there was a time when my toddler son would eat nothing but scrambled eggs and cheese drenched in ketchup for months at a time! I tried so many time to add in finely chopped or pureed veggies to his eggs but he always knew when they tasted “funny” and wouldn’t touch them unless they were prepared exactly the same every day! When my daughter was a baby and still eating pureed baby foods, she loved all of the fruits and veggies that we tried, except for green peas. As soon that spoonful of green peas started coming towards her mouth, she would clamp her little lips shut tight and refuse to even try a bite! She would do that baby arm waving thing, shaking her head and turning her face this way and that without so much as budging that little clamped mouth, lol! Kids can be so fickle when it comes to food!

Thankfully, with one now an adult and the other a middle schooler, they both are willing to try pretty much any food and they enjoy a great variety of flavors. It seems surviving on scrambled eggs or grilled cheese (my daughter’s toddler meal of choice) for months at a time didn’t have the negative impact on their health or diets that I feared it might.

We have been fortunate that our kids aren’t too picky. They love the Happy Family squeeze packs! Heading to check out the contest!

  3. 4

I’m going to check out their contest. With 4 kids, I have plenty of stories to share. :)
I love Happy Family products – especially the squeezy blended fruits and veggies. That’s the first thing my youngest son would eat as far as solids go! It’s so easy to eat, tastes great, and I know that the ingredients are safe and nutritious.

What a fun contest and such a great way to turn the hassle that dinner can be into a positive moment!

That is a great contest. $20k could go a long way towards higher education.

My teen is the picky eater in our family. She misses out on so many things! I hope she broadens her horizons sooner rather than later. ;)

It’s funny that you say that, because when I was little I would eat everything drenched in ketchup too, even cereal. I only have one that is a picky eater thank goodness. Definitely going to check out the contest.

Great opportunity! I don’t have any kids, but I can’t think of any funny feeding stories from when I was younger…I’m just super picky!

My 5 year old is so picky! I’m hoping that when he gets older he will branch out a bit!

Ugh, my 5 year old is soooo picky. I swear he lives on chicken nuggets and freeze pops. No lie.

My kids are pretty good eaters. Each of them have a few things they don’t like but pretty much they will eat almost anything. When they were young people were amazed that they loved salad. What most didn’t realize it was just a means to eat Ranch dressing ;).

Gavyn is so picky. Was awesome at eating when he was a toddler but now forget it. When he was 4 he decided ground beef was horrible. We made him take 2 bites of meatloaf. We’ll never do that again. He was up puking all night long. Not sure whey but he hates ground beef!!!

TOTALLY picky eaters in my house!! great info!

We LOVE our Happy Family! Just making sure my son has all the fruits/veggies he needs is nice! And that picture is so cute!
