Just over a week ago, I joined a group of Verizon Wireless bloggers on Twitter for a “20 questions Tweet Up.” It didn’t take us long to guess what our next review device would be! And a few days later when the Intuition by LG arrived, I was super impressed with the nifty new “phlablet.”
After successfully putting on a screen protector (yes I’m a pro now, no laughing!), I charged her up and started comparing her to my Samsung Galaxy S III.
First of all, the Intuition is huge. The display is a whopping 5″ x 4″, quite a bit larger than the S III. And is it ever pretty! I have horrible eyesight so having this larger screen is great! I can do more, with less eyestrain, using the Intuition.
Of course, having a larger screen does mean that I can’t really fit this phone (phlablet?) in my pocket. This won’t be a huge problem since I usually have my purse with me anyways.
I say it’s worth it though if you enjoy using your phone to browse the web. The large screen makes it so easy to check in to my social media accounts and browse friend’s blogs. I can easily see photos, leave comments and even have fun on Pinterest all while using my Intuition. Browsing Instagram photos is also a joy on this phone! I can actually see all of the details, the screen is just beautiful!
And while the phone is large, it does fit very comfortably in my hand. I have an easier time texting and using the keyboard as well since they aren’t so tiny!
Of course, you can also take great photos with the Intuition by LG. There is a 8 Megapixel rear camera and as well as a front facing camera. The camera has a really neat “Say Cheese” function that uses your voice to take the shot – love this! There is also a “Beauty Shot” mode that turns on with one finger touch to smooth and brighten skin tones, very sweet!
Screenshots are also super easy to take on the Intuition. I use the Volume Down button + the power button to snap a quick screenie. I find these really useful for illustrating blog posts, check out the ones below that show how much of a site is now visible!
The Intuition also comes with a Rubberdium pen because one of the cool features that makes this phone unique, is the ability to take notes by writing directly on the screen. Of course, you can use your finger too but why would you, the pen is just fun!
These “QuickMemos” can be saved like little post it notes on your phone and then shared with friends and family, or just as reminders for yourself. It’s a pretty cool feature and I’m thinking of ways to utilize it as we speak!
There isn’t anywhere to store the pen on the phone itself, so a nice case is the way to go. I chose the Belkin Display Folio Cover for my Intuition and am pleased with it so far. It is great for watching videos or browsing sites while I cook since the case doubles as a phlablet stand. There’s a pen holder too so I won’t lose mine!
So What?
So, I have a ton to learn about this new device and the preloaded apps. All-in-all, I am enjoying using it, though it hasn’t completely replaced my Samsung Galaxy S III… yet. I’m looking forward to sharing more about the Verizon Wireless service and available devices in my next post along with what I’ve learned about the Intuition by LG.

It’s a phone & a tablet! :)
Wow, the screen is huge. It’s a phone and a tablet. Nice! I can’t wait to hear more about it.
That looks like an awesome phone – and the screen is so big. How nice when you’re trying to surf the net ;)
