HandTrux Backhoe makes digging fun for all ages! #review

handtrux logoWhile summertime is just starting to wind down, we know there are plenty of sunny days left. We’re hoping to spend a few more of those at our local “beach”. The usual beach necessities make it into the back of the car when we plan for a day in the sun; buckets and shovels for sand castle building, noodles for floating, towels, chairs, coolers and sunscreen.

One more item that we’ll be sure to remember to take along from now on is a HandTrux Backhoe. Hand trux makes it extremely easy to dig in sand, both wet and dry. My daughter and her friend found out that it worked so much better than the usual floppy shovel that’s included with the buckets we buy.

I’ve read on the HandTrux website that the backhoe toy can also be used for playing with dirt and even snow! I’m sure my kids will put that to the test this winter when we get dumped on in true Pennsylvania style!

The HandTrux is a fun digging toy for kids, and adults, of all ages. It fit both my 10 year old daughter’s slim arm and her dad’s much larger one comfortably. It also digs a mean sandcastle moat.

The toy is made out of very sturdy plastic with no sharp edges. It seems like it will hold up well for years if we take care of it.

Buy It: You can find the HandTrux for sale at select retail outlets, as well as Amazon.com for around $17.99. ALSO… visit the HandTrux website for more information on the Sand Sculpting contest where you can win a $50 US savings bond (through Sept. 30, 2011).
