It’s been quite wet around here lately. The ground slurps and gurgles when you walk across the grass and we’re starting to feel like we’re growing gills.
Last night the rain took part of the road with it when it washed out the culvert pipe. We woke to a firetruck and a tow truck outside of our window. Apparently someone jumped the trench it left behind in the wee hours of the morning.
They survived but the car did not.
I just love rain! It can bring good things too! Wildflowers, fat bumblebees, daffodils and some of nature’s fiercer creatures are all thriving in our rainy weather.
It also grows beautiful little girls.
Happy WW!

Eeek, how scary! Love all the pics…except for the snakes ;)
That IS scary! I loved the photos as well, though I’m not a snake fan either (you are brave – I wouldn’t get close enough to take a picture!*l*)
Wow that snake was feisty! Weir about the road though!
scary about the road! And I could have done w/o the snake pics ;-)
whoa! great pics!
Yeah, I would not want to jump that. I can see why the car didn’t make it. Yuck on the snake – totally not a fan. Love that last shot. Really nice angle and I love the pop of yellow!
I am ready for the rain to be gone! Great pics!
Great photos, but oh my goodness. That is some major rain to do some damage like that. Hope the sun starts shining for you soon!
WOW! We could use some of that rain. Some great shots
Send some rain this way – we’re in an extreme drought.
Whoa! That is a creepy little snake! Yikes!
Great photos – isn’t nature amazing?
Oh my! The snake one grosses me out!
Wow the rain does quite a bit of damage and good. The snake is kinda scary!
Oh wow! That’s crazy! At least everyone was alright! I love that last photo best!
I love the photo of the bee and YUCK regarding the mess the rain made.
Great shots. It rained by us too, but you beat us for muckiness. Cool shot with the snake’s mouth open!
Beautiful pics! Not a fan of bees or snakes though! I don’t think I would have gotten close enough to take a picture without getting the heebee geebies!
WOW! I can’t believe the damage it did to that road!
aw that’s nothing Shadeland road get potholes twice that big. ;) LOL Luv the Bumble Bee did you take it yourself or one of the kids? amazing.
Awesome photos! Love the snake shot!
WOrking with farmers, I’ve seen how destructive flooding or flash flooding can be. Sure glad that everyone was safe.
Oh my heart just goes out to the states that are dealing with the awful flooding already this year! I cannot imagine that kind of water and having to deal with it!
I am glad the person is OK. Scary.
I just love your pictures!! happy WW!
Thank you Brandy!
That road looks like the area where my parents live…. they’re having flooding issues. (not sure where you are, but they are in the NE Oklahoma/Missouri area) Wish it would rain here in Texas; we’re in a MAJOR drought. :(
We are in NWPA and very fortunate not to live in the middle of the country. My heart just goes out to all of those dealing with real flooding that is happening there!
Loads of great pix but of your daughter is the best!
that last picture of your daughter is AWESOME! What a shot! And the bee is my favorite one too. YAY for rain….I am looking forward to WARMTH lol
Me too Annie! I am tired of being cold and soggy all the time :)
Glad everyone was ok. We’re getting serious rain and I was just thinking about the sink holes we sometimes get with all the crazy weather.
Thankfully rain doesn’t bring out the snakes here, at least not that I’ve ever seen.
The rain has been driving us a little crazy. I’m ready for all the flood waters to finally go back down!
Love the last picture of your daughter. It’s a great shot!
I feel you on the good and the bad. April is tornado weather around here, but the flowers are pretty! That snake is SUPER scary though lol
Kas
EEEEk Tornado weather is the absolute worst thing about spring/summer! We don’t get as much as the higher risk states do but storms truly terrify me! Hope you are safe wherever you are!
I’m pretty sick of the rain here…come one sunshine
I agree! I don’t mind the rain so much as I do the stormy unsettled weather!
Those are some awesome pictures!
That is a big ditch for someone to attempt to drive over. Luckily they are okay! Remember that April Showers brings May flowers!
Great pictures! I’m amazed at how the road washed out. That’s scary.
Well, it takes more than the rain to grow a lady that lovely :)
lol! You’ve got that right! i couldn’t help but think she looked liek a flower growing out of the dead twigs when I saw the photo though :)
