Viktoria’s shop, Visart, is full of beautiful and unique beads, jewelry, buttons, and trinkets that she creates using polymer clay. How did you choose your shop name?
My shop name, Visart, combines both my first and family names! – Viktoria Slutsky Art
Who or What inspires you to create?
I am inspired by my kids, nature, my Mom, life style magazines, that dress I saw on someone…
Can you tell us a bit about your creating process?
I mostly create at night, when the kids are sleeping and the house is quiet. I have my tiny corner in our computer room. My husband made me some shelves in there and added a table and a lamp.
I work with polymer clay (Fimo, Premo, Kato), I make my own canes, usually with flowers and leafs motives (love flowers), slice them very thin, apply to surfaces and shape pendants, beads or buttons. After this it’s pretty simple – bake, sand and glaze.
What do you just love making the most? What craft would you like to try next?
For now I love making tiny pendants with sparkling crystals, they are like tiny treasures to me. I would like to try paper making, each new sheet is like a new life- who knows what will be written on this piece of paper!
How do you spend your time when you’re not crafting?
I love nature, so when I am not creating and not at my day job, I love to spend time with my family outside, walking among the trees or at the beach, collecting some “artifacts”, for craft times with my boys. This is my fuel, my source of energy and my inspiration.
