Five For Fighting – Slice – CD Review

The album takes stories of friends, family and even American servicemen, and sets them to music shot through with the spirit of the great songs of his youth. It’s a diary, or a blog, in which Ondrasik speaks his mind about current issues, experiences and sentiments, while setting those thoughts to piano, bass and drums.”

Tidbits:
John launched whatkindofworlddoyouwant.com in 2007 to raise money for charities, so far $300,000 has been donated through users veiwing video clips! As a dedicated US Troops suporter, John loves to perform for our service people. He also created & produced a CD of superstar recordings called “For the Troops” that is free to every active service person in the US Armed Forces! John is also a father of 2 and happily married! It’s great to see celebrities who are so family orientated!

My View

When I found out I was in for the One2One Network blog tour for Five For Fighting’s newest album, Slice, I was ecstatic! I love Five For Fighting and one of my absolutely favorite songs is 100 Years. I am so happy to say that this newest album is more of a really good thing and one of my favorite reviews since starting my blog!

John Ondrasik’s voice is amazing, and I have always liked how clear and pure he sounds in his music, you can really hear the story and the soul in each of his songs. That’s another thing, you know when you listen to John, you’re listening to a story about someone, something, his songs mean something and they make sense! It’s like talking to an old friend and nodding along because you know exactly how they feel! I am going to listen to Slice over and over again. It’s upbeat, makes me smile and want to get up and dance, in fact I will right now! Join me!

I’m back :) Love everyone of the songs but my favorite has to be:
Hope – Oh I need to listen to this song every single day! It’s the first thing I want to hear in the morning! (Okay, I say this is my favorite but as I keep listening, every time a song comes on I say to myself, OH I L-O-V-E this one!! Maybe I just can’t pick a favorite!)
