I Pledge to make One Small Change. What’s yours? #OneSmallChange

one small change challenge

There is no use in denying it, over the past 2 years,  I have really let myself go. Two years ago, I was going to my favorite aerobics class at least three times a week, taking walks a few times a week and generally keeping myself quite active. These days, I can barely drag myself to the open workout room at the school 2 or 3 times a week to jog on the treadmill. I am trying, though. With the holidays getting ready to make an appearance, I’ve realized that yet another year has almost passed by and here I am still making excuses.

So before I end up taking my annual and detrimental “holiday break” from fitness, I’m making a promise to myself right now to make One Small Change in my life. That small change will be to keep up with my fitness. Keep up with going to the workout room to run on that treadmill. And, keep up with my goal of getting my 5K time down to where I want it, consistently. So, I am pledging to make this One Small Change to stop making excuses about my fitness. I am pledging to just get out there and do it because I know I can. I have before and I can do this!

I’ll be making this change as part of the Puritan’s Pride One Small Change challenge, I am glad to have a jumpstart to get back on track with my fitness again. Over the next 60 days, I’ll check in with you two more times, to let you know how I’m doing and most importantly, to tell you how I’m feeling.

I would love to invite you to also take up the challenge! Everyone can find a way to make One Small Change to improve their life, their health and/ or their situation — a change could be as simple as taking the dog for a daily walk, drinking more water, making sure to eat enough fruits and veggies or quitting smoking. After 60 days, we should all really take the time to think about how our change has impacted our life or our family’s life.

What do I hope to gain from taking the challenge?

I hope my goal to continue with my fitness helps me to have a brighter outlook and a better attitude each day. This in turn can only benefit my family because we all know that when Mama is happy, everyone is happy!

To make sure I am holding myself accountable, I started logging my workouts again on my spreadsheet and will update it each time I take action on my One Small Change Challenge. If you are joining in, find a way to hold yourself accountable as well — enlist a friend or family member to join you, or just keep a sheet of paper on the fridge to mark down your goals and successes. It’s important to remember that failure can and quite possibly will happen, but the key is to not let one small failure take over. Just start again the next day and believe in yourself! I’m excited to start so, Let’s do it!
