Wordless Wednesday – Day at Presque Isle State Park #ww

Last Thursday, Pie and I picked up our two favorite cousins and spent the entire day at the lake.  It was a perfect 73 degrees and partly sunny and while we didn’t swim — we did have the most wonderful time digging for lake glass, wading along the shore and exploring the many beaches of Presque Isle State Park.  I could listen to the waves for hours and be content.  We also stopped at Sarah’s & Sally’s Diner for lunch and loved exploring the old classic diner car that people can still sit in to enjoy their food (it was really good and had great prices).

We plan to go back before winter kicks in to rent and try out the 4 seater surrey bike — that should be interesting :)  This post is super photo heavy so sorry for the load time!

WOW! Beautiful pictures except for the spider of course :). What is lake glass? I love the picture of Pie on the rocks and the bird. Very cool!

Oh, it’s just sea glass. I guess it would be called sea glass but I just wrote lake instead, lol! We found some little bits, a few that may be large enough for a necklace or ring!

What a great place to visit!!! I love all these pictures (and that spider is creepy, but NEAT!)!

I hope you get to go back before winter sets in!

  12. 16

It looks like a really fun day! I have to say though that I would have run screaming like crazy because of that spider!

    • 17

Haha, we did run screaming! It looks bigger on camera though – if I could have seen his face with the naked eye– there is no way I would have stooped over to take his photo!

  13. 18

Your shots are always stunning. That looks like such a fun day!

  14. 19

Great pictures. Looks like you guys had fun. I love the beach/sand shots especially!

  18. 23

The pictures are great. You look like you could be Pi’s sister in the last one.

And there was a spider on the beach?!?!?!??!?!??!? And you got close enough to take a pic. Whew, I’d have been moving to another part of the beach (and still paranoid to boot). :)

Glad you girls had a fun day out.

  19. 24

Those are some great shots! I love the light house (one of my many obsessions) .

  20. 25

Beautiful photos of a gorgeous day. I would love to sit there for the afternoon as well. I like how the ocean can lull me to sleep regardless of how into my book I am. :-)
