Why I Love My Husband – 10 Reasons

My husband is driving me nuts.

More so than I already am! Chris has been in construction for almost as long as we have been together, he’s owned his own small business for at least the last 10 years. This is the time of year things are slow — like slower than molasses. Which usually means he is home more often than not early in the year, at least until the next contract job comes through. Not having a schedule drives me insane. I like being home by myself during the day so I can get something done! When he’s home he thinks he can talk to me — the nerve!  I can’t do anything when he’s around, he turns the TV up and makes noise and asks me to do things like figure out how to send email from Craig’s List for him and how to play movies in the laptop and… BLARGH!

That being said, of course, I love him without end!

So I thought I would make a little list of the top ten reasons I love my husband. I’m not sure if it will help with how annoying he is, but it is a great reminder on those days when I wish I could just smack him with a frying pan! I saw Robin do this on her blog not long ago and thought it sounded like a fun post.

Ten Reasons Why I Love My Husband
  1. When he’s home, he does the dishes and the laundry and sweeps the floors. Umm, LOVE!
  2. He is really wonderful with little kids, you should see him with our granddaughter, too sweet.
  3. He takes care of my chickens for me when it’s super muddy and snowy outside. (I call him the chicken herder)
  4. He makes sure that he always gets to the kids events and games, always!
  5. We have a lot of fun gardening and growing things together, he always makes sure to tell me when my flowers are starting to pop up.
  6. We both love nature and history.
  7. Movies are our thing, we love watching them together, at home or tat the theater. Though our tastes are different, he’ll still watch a chick flick with me once in awhile.
  8. He’s my bug squisher. I cannot squish a bug, bee, spider or whatever if it’s in the house. It just gives me the creeps to even think about capturing or squishing an insect that’s inside! He always does it for me. Even if I sometimes put a cup over said insect and leave it there all day until he comes home to get rid of, he doesn’t even laugh at me for it!
  9. He’s like a furnace, when I get in bed, he doesn’t complain about my ice cold toes stealing the heat from his internal furnace. Seriously this guy is like your own personal heater!
  10. He always dresses up with me for Halloween, I loved his viking costume last year!

And one more, maybe this extra one is the most important one:

  • He has a great sense of humor. We can always laugh at each other, even when we’re mad at each other about something dumb.

Well, that’s feels better! I know before long, the next job will come up and he’ll be working long hours again. Then, I’ll remember how much I do miss him when he’s working all the time. I love you Super G., I really do!

Aww. :) And your hubby sweeps, does laundry, and dishes??? I’ve never seen the day, not even when I’m falling down sick, and half dead, lol. Those are lovely qualities.

My aunt and uncle have been married 50 yrs this year…she was a stay at home mom & he drove a truck (which meant he was gone a lot). They have a very solid, wonderful marriage. When he retired, she went to work cleaning at a hospital. He was mortified and wanted her to quit (they’re from that era where women just don’t work) but she said if she didn’t get a job she’d go crazy (with him trying to run the house after she’d done her whole life). The story still makes me laugh. She worked a good half a decade before quitting. And she loved it.

And to make a long post even longer, my hubby just went back to work today after a two week vacation, and all I can say is WOOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! My things were really starting to suffer w/him home. And I love him too, but again I say, woo hoo!! :)

I guess I lucked out in the domestic department because he doesn’t mind doing any of it! I think your aunt and uncle have the right idea — I always say You can’t miss each other if he won’t leave! What’s the other one? Absence Makes The Heart Grow Fonder! So true!

Lucky you! I wish mine would get the heck out of the house!

I wish my husband didn’t mind my cold feet :P I know what you mean but that just means they treasure the extra time they get to spend with us…right? That’s what I told myself when my DH was home sick. Very sweet list though. I’ve been meaning to put one together so this helped remind me.

I’m a single mom, so all that sounds wonderful. I have to squash the bugs, venture out in mud & snow and buy more blankets. And no help means few movies and no gardening. I’d certainly put up with the annoying-downtime-stuff.

    Count the blessings for sure!

Thanks for the reminder Kathy! I know that so many others have it harder than I! I do count myself lucky to have such a great guy in my life because I’m not sure what I would do without him!

Awww I need to start writing some personal posts, but am in blah mood right now. He sounds like a great hubby!! Oh and I’m the bug squasher here, how does that work when hubby is 6’5″?? Wussy lol

I have been super blah lately to Nichol, I need to get back to Jazzercise to boost my mood! As for the bugs, I don’t mind them outside at all but something about them being in my space just gives me the shivers! My brother in law is like your hubby though, my sister has to get rid of all the bugs, especially the spiders!

He definitley sounds like a keeper :)

My tootsies are always cold, too, and I stick mine between my husbands legs. He on the other hand squeels like a little girl when I do so – haha!!

Sounds like you’ve got a keeper! It’s always nice to hear when someone talks positively about their spouse.
I kinda go nuts too when my husband is home during the day. It throws off my mojo because that’s my “me” time.

Cold toes in bed are no fun at all. He sounds like a great guy and a great dad.
