Packing lunch with the Rubbermaid Lunchblox Sandwich kit

Our daughter has packed lunch since she was a Kindergartner. Now in middle school, she still prefers to bring a lunch from home. Over the years we have gone through many {many} different styles and sizes of containers. Some have worked out well, others not so much. This year, we are using the new Rubbermaid Lunchblox containers. Designed specifically for packing a lunch, these containers are a great way to take the headache out of your morning routine.

We received a Rubbermaid Lunchblox Sandwich kit. This kit features 1 larger sandwich sized container, 2 square snack containers, 1 side container and 1 medium blue ice. It’s really nice to have containers that are the perfect portion size to help reduce waste and keep everything nice and tidy.

This is not the greatest lunch {we were in a hurry that morning!} but it does show you how easily a sandwich fits in to the container. There is enough room that the sandwich won’t get squished when you put on the lid. The snack containers are great for baby carrots, goldfish, broccoli and chips. I also like to use them for cheese cubes or slices. The side container is shown holding a pastry crisp snack right now but we also like it for small side salads and cut up fruits like watermelon and oranges.

Once  the containers are filled, they can snap together in several ways to fit in the lunchbox or bag. Using the Blue Ice pack that is included with the Lunchblox keeps my daughter’s lunch fresh and chilled until lunchtime.

The first time we used the Lunchblox to pack my daughter’s lunch, I was worried that the Lunchblox wouldn’t fit into her bag. It is larger than our usual lunch containers but we still had plenty of room! She can even fit a bottle of water or a larger piece of fruit inside her bag if she would like. The BPA-free containers are very easy to keep clean and they are microwave, dishwasher and freezer-safe.

There are two other sizes of Lunchblox that we would like to try, the Salad kit and Entree kit. Once we have all three kits, we can mix and match which containers she will pack each day for more variety.

I love these! My favorite part is how they can be put in the freezer, microwave and dishwasher. I’m hoping to get the salad one for myself since I use the sandwich one for my son currently. Great pictures too!

We love our kit! Gav has been bringing it daily. He likes cold cooked chicken wraps with lettuce, cheese and ranch so the small container is perfect for the ranch!

These are awesome! I wish my boy’s lunches look that organized. We are currently using the “throw ziplock bags in the lunchbox method.

I saw all those last night at KMart. I was intrigued! They are all nice-sized containers.
