Curiosity Rover landing – safely on Mars!

I just watched the Curiosity Rover landing on Mars! Well, I watched the Live feed from NASA TV and it was very cool! I snapped a few quick screenshots of the images that Odyssey captured after Curiosity landed on the surface of Mars on August 6, 2012 at 10:14:39 PDT so I thought I would share! My son was up to watch with me, I hope he remembers this for a long time!

Two things I heard shouted out while everyone was hugging and crying and yelling and celebrating were “Holy Shit!!” and “Eight years of stress!” — lol, I imagine the tense moments waiting for images to come through and waiting for confirmation of landing were indeed extremely stressful!! 

Very, very cool! Did you get to watch Curiosity land on Mars?

    Very cool! I saw they were streaming live from 11-2 on The Weather Channel, no way could I stay up. We DVRd it:)
