Clear off the counters with the Rubbermaid Hidden Recycler – Review

We are not the greenest family but we do try to recycle many items such as paper, plastic, cans and glass. In the past I have hated how all of this stuff piles up in the kitchen. We live in a small house and everyone always tosses the items we want to recycle on the counter by the sink, or on top of the dryer, until we had enough to take in. What a pain and an eye sore! I do not like to have all of that stuff just lying around out in the open and I have to be honest, we’ve been slacking with our recycling because of it :(.

What I needed was a recyclables storage solution!

Rubbermaid Hidden Recycler

Fortunately, I had the opportunity to try out Rubbermaid’s new Hidden Recycler container, just in time to get back on track with recycling for Earth Month! Rubbermaid has a whole line of three new products that will make recycling a whole lot easier and less of a pain; the 2-in-1 Recycler, Stackable Recycle Bins and this Hidden Recycler. The recycle bin that we received is the perfect solution for my family’s needs.

Rubbermaid Hidden Recycler Review

The Hidden Recycler is a five gallon machine washable bag that hides behind my cupboard door and doesn’t take up our limited floor space. It was very easy to put together, all I had to do was place the bag onto the sturdy frame, attach the metal door hangers and it was ready to start working! The bag is an attractive “recycled green” color and it’s made of a nice flexible material so it easily fits inside our narrow cupboards without problem.

I also love that the Rubbermaid bin is roomy enough for a milk jug and several day’s worth of recyclables to fit into. When our bin is full, I can just lift the bin off of the door/lid hanger by using the comfortable handle, then dump it into the larger trash can outside very easily using the second fabric handle near the bottom of the bag. The entire Hidden Recycler not only collects your recyclables, it is made of recycled materials itself! I’m looking forward to using this durable storage bin for a long time!

Where to purchase a Hidden Recycler

The Hidden Recycler is currently available for purchase online at Rubbermaid.com and Meijer stores. It retails for $15.99 so is a very affordable storage option. I use Rubbermaid storage solutions for long term storage, Xmas, Halloween and other holiday storage. I also like their everyday storage solutions for leftovers, sack lunches and pantry items. I would love to have, let alone win a Rubbermaid Hidden Recycler. It would help solve the clutter problem of visible recyclables in the kitchen. I will be getting one even if I don’t win one.
