The countdown is on! There are only 14 more days until Lionsgate’s The Hunger Games begin! My daughter and I are anxiously awaiting opening day of this movie after reading all of the books. We are so excited! {as you may be able to tell from the excessive exclamation points!}
Fourteen more days until Katniss takes her sister’s place in the capitol’s brutal game. Oooh, I’ve got the chills just thinking about it! I’m very interested in seeing how they pull it all together and cannot wait to see how the characters are portrayed by the chosen actors.
Every year in the ruins of what was once North America, the evil Capitol of the nation of Panem forces each of its twelve districts to send a teenage boy and girl to compete in the Hunger Games. A twisted punishment for a past uprising and an ongoing government intimidation tactic, The Hunger Games are a nationally televised event in which “Tributes” must fight with one another until one survivor remains.

I sadly won’t be able to go on the 23rd because my husband has to work and he will murder me in my sleep if I see it without him but I am going with him first thing on Saturday morning. And then again later that day with my friend Nataly. Twice in one day because I rock like that.

I am definately looking forward to the movie!!!!! I have never read anything nearly as compelling as the hunger games was to me (and probably to many others as well). I have had a hard time getting my hands on the books, but i knew after i read the 1st one (which i had just gotten) that i would go through any lengths to get my hands on them, and when i did, i would never let go (so i owe the library quite a bit of money (;…not giving back mockingjay until i have memorized it!). All my friends call me an obsessive, compulsive freak because every time the trailer/commercial comes on, i feel like i have a ton of caffine in by blood and i have to run around to calm myself down. I’m absolutely going…by myself, the first time! I’ll go in the middle of the day so I can savor it in a near empty theatre. Then I’ll see if hubby wants to go and maybe, my grandson (which is another reason I need to “preview” the movie to see if it’s appropriate for him).

My daughter and I are reading the first book in homeschool. We are only on chapter 7 trying to read faster so we have the book finished before going to see the movie. The whole family is planning on seeing the film:) I like Katniss more and more with every chapter we read!!
