Light up the night with the Glow Crazy Distance Doodler #review

During the ‘dark days of winter’, we’ll be bringing a little light to our family time with the Glow Crazy Distance Doodler. Say that 5 times fast.. it’s pretty fun :). Saying the name isn’t the only fun thing about this awesome toy by BIGiggle, playing with it is also a great way for kids of all ages to spend a few hours playing together.

All you need to start playing is a smooth wall and some darkness — the darker the better! The Distance Doodler (heehee, there’s that funny name again!) set comes with a dual action Magic Lightwand, 4 Glow Clings, 4 stencils that are fun to create with and even a neat little tip book so you can get the most out of your Doodler.

The stencils are a nice addition that allow the kids to create mini glowing versions of rocket ships, seahorses, trucks, stars and other fun children’s items. You do have to be pretty quick to make more than a couple though as the glow doesn’t last too long! The first time we tried our Distance Doodler, we just laid the Glow cling sheets on my son’s bed and drew from there. His room is the darkest one in the house and it worked well! Of course Pie had to try out lots of items like her feet, her hands and her glasses.

Now, one of the clings is on our door in the living room. They’re both white so it isn’t very noticeable and makes for easy access to our Distance Doodler. You really can draw from quite a ways away — 10 feet  the box says and I believe it! We often have fun messing around drawing silly faces or writing on the ‘door’ in the evening. Which usually leads to a few minutes of letting our Ginger dog play ‘catch the magic laser beam’ with the Magic Lightwand :).

The whole family will have fun together with this simple toy. There are also other versions of the Glow Crazy toys, like the big ‘Doodle Dome’ and travel version called ‘Glow to Go’, available!
