    He looks like he could rule the roost for a long time.

    What a handsome little guy.

    Oh I love him, so cute and his owner is very cute in the pic too. I wish I could hold a rooster, all the ones I have been around are not so interested in that!

    Are they loud? My hubby would love to get a rooster and some chickens…me? not so much

    • 15

      We have had Roosters that are loud and ones that are not, so it’s hard to say! You don’t need a rooster to have chickens though and if you have neighbors that would complain, I would recommend sticking with just hens. Roosters tend to crow at anytime of day :) The girls are very fun to watch as they run around the yard, it can be entertaining!

    ooks like a really sweet rooster. Ours is a b.u.t.t! Our Mr. Red is very aggressive and I only keep him to protect my girls. He does a good job against all the foxes, raccoons and other critters out here. How long have you had Mr. Puff?

    • 20

      We have definitely had some BAD roosters! They can get so mean, I won’t keep a mean one {bad memories from my great grandpa’s trying to attack me lol!}

      they can be great yard watchers though. We’ve had Mr. Puff since Jan 2005, he’s about 7, I was a year off and didn’t realize it until I looked it up! I do believe he is going blind in his good eye, one has been bad since he and another rooster had a bad fight {that rooster went bye-bye!}, so that may be why he hasn’t been as active. The warm weather has perked him up a bit though!

      Thank you! I made a mistake, he’s actually only 7, still pretty old to me though! I’ve read chickens can live anywhere from 3 – 15 years!
