Presto FlipSide Belgian Waffle Maker makes big fat waffles!

We have been eating the most delicious homemade waffles ever! Years ago when Mr.T. was small we had a waffle maker that my dad bought for us. It was a little cheapo one that made 2 small square waffles every 5-6 minutes. We used that iron ALL the time! It made good  waffles, but not great ones. After it finally died we went a long time without homemade waffles. Too long! Those frozen ones at the store just cannot compare to a fresh hot waffle made from scratch.

So when I recently had the opportunity to choose a new kitchen appliance for review, a waffle maker was on the very top of my list. There was quite a selection to choose from and I was torn between the Cuisinart Round Classic Waffle Maker and the Presto FlipSide Belgian Waffle Maker. Finally I decided bigger was better in this case and went for the Presto FlipSide. Also, I really liked the idea of “flipping” my waffles to help the batter spread itself out evenly. I am so pleased with my choice – flipping is fun and it works!

Holy Huge Waffles!

This waffle iron makes the best darn waffles I’ve ever tasted in my life… not kidding! My only complaint is that I’ve been missing out all of these years eating puny little hard things that really shouldn’t be allowed to call themselves waffles! Yum YUM yum is just about the only way to describe the waffles this iron puts out. I’ve only made the classic batter recipe that is included in the book so far but plan on experimenting with a wheat version  and a biscuit version for chicken & gravy soon.

What else do I like besides the waffles it makes? I love that I can store it upright! This is a major plus for me since I live in a teeny tiny double wide with a very small kitchen. The Presto FlipSide fits nicely in the space I have and looks attractive with its stainless steel and black exterior (don’t mind the dried batter on the handle in my picture!).

The timer feature is nice to have as well. It does take one AA battery but it’s easier than digging through the junk utensil drawer to find my timer. Four minutes will give you a perfectly crisp on the outside – fluffy on the inside – melt in your mouth waffle. A HUGE 7″ round 1″ thick belgian waffle! One of them will stuff you! Honestly I don’t know how I’ve lived without this gadget in my kitchen.

Purchase a waffle maker!

The Presto FlipSide Belgian Waffle Maker can be found on Amazon.com for $37.94 and it is well worth it!

I've been wanting a waffle maker for eons! We've bought so many frozen waffles that I felt like they should have been paying me to buy them. We all like different kinds so it would be so cool to do one batter and customize everyone's waffle. Okay, now my stomach is growling! LOL

I just finally got a waffle maker again too! We’ve just been doing without– I REFUSE to buy the frozen ones, if they’re not the most over priced thing in the grocery store I don’t know what is! (maybe the frozen garlic toast?)

I love doing a big batch and freezing– cook, and CLEAN once, eat over and over again!

Hi Henrietta, can’t wait to try these cinnamon rolls – great idea for camping too! I would love to have your waffle recipe, I bought the Waring Pro belgian waffle maker and I too love the flipping! After staying at a Hampton Inn and using the one there I had to get one, haven’t been sorry a minute. My waffle recipe from my maker is very tasty and quick to make but my waffles don’t get crispy – do yours? They look like they do.
