Wordless Wednesday – Mom feels major Growing Pains

Is it just me or are kids growing way too fast these days?

Mr.T. on the right w/ a friend (left)

From the kid who’s too cool to stand with his mom and who is now officially taller than said mom….. I did NOT authorize this growing taller than mom bit!!

To the girl who is old enough to be dropped off at the beginning of the parade

Pie on right w/ friend (left) doesn’t even care! Sigh

while mom has to be drug off by hubby who threatens to leave her drive down to the end and wait countless minutes that feel like days until she gets there while praying that she makes it without any horrific accidents happening….
She did.

Am I the only one?
sorry for the Wordy Wordless Wednesday

  1. All I can do is smile; I had those feeling with my oldest and I sometimes have them with my youngsters I'm one of those weird moms who looks at every milestone and growth as: "Yippee, only 15 more years 'til the last one leaves!" LOL… They do grow quickly.

Nope you're not the only one. My daughter is 12 and almost as tall as me!

    Have a great hump day!

I know what you mean Etta. Anthony is 13 and he's about 3 inches taller than me. He still offers me hugs and a kiss before he leaves to go even in front of his friends though. But I can remember so clearly everything from the moment he was born and I can't believe it's gone by so fast. Now he's just starting to take a notice in girls. God help me I'm not ready for that yet. Don't these kids come with a pause button somewhere. Or better yet a rewind so you can go back and twick things around a little. What happen to my little baby?

I'm not ready for those days!

  7. I never imagined how quickly time would go by . . . and mine are still little still. I don't know how I will cope when my boys start towering over me!!

  8. Oh no I'm not looking forward to this:( Mine are 7 and 3 and it's coming too too fast.

  11. Oh, man — I do NOT look forward to this happening to my kiddos!

  12. Aw, they're both so sweet! I'm already choked up, and mine's turning 3 this week. I definitely did not authorize the growing up!

  13. Not only did my bio kid, but also his friends (who also called me mom) get taller than me too soon, but they started leaning on me in ways that towered over me, just to prove the point.
You need to remember that good old phrase… "I brought you into this world, and I can take you out!" when the towering gets to be less than fun and respectful.

Enjoyed your daughter's marching pics. Those were the best days- made lifetime friends.

Yes, it's bittersweet to watch them grow up before your eyes! That's why I always squeeze in an extra hug and kiss because they're little for only a short time!
