Wordless Wednesday – A Mother’s Patience

Our little banty hen Gabby has been sitting on her four precious little bundles for 19 days now.

With a little luck her perseverance will pay off in another 2-4 days and we’ll have baby chicks to love :)

Who’s the Daddy?

Flapjack or Rusty?

Rusty for sure. We could always have Maury do a DNA check!

You have beautiful chickens!! We just always had the ugly white ones. Hope all the eggs hatch :)

Great pictures. The roosters almost look like mugshots, in this context.

Great photo! Does she not eat while she sits? (Can you tell I know nothing about this?) I'm excited to see the chicks.

So… Will the babies look more like one than the other or are they gonna do a DNA test? ROFL… Okay, I know it was corny, but I couldn't resist. LOL

Lol ya'll are funny, you got my Maury reference though didn't a ;)

@Petula- This mama does eat when she sits, she gets up for about 15 minutes or so each day to stretch and eat/drink, We have had ones in the past though that don't even want to do that so we have to go out and hand feed/water them each day!

@Kim – We have 3 white ones too but chickens come in all shapes and sizes! That's what makes them so fun :)

Honestly we'll never know who the daddy is, it's fun to guess though!

What a gorgeous picture of that hen! I can't believe you got that close for a picture. Granddads hens always tried to pluck our eyes out if we got that close. LOL. Dropping by from MomDot for WW, albeit late.

You're too funny! I guess time will tell, or maybe not. ;) I can't wait when we can have egg laying hens. Our meat chickens will be here within a couple weeks so we'll be busy fattening up here soon. :)
