UK pop-rock band One eskimO album review

Have you heard of the hot English band One eskimO? I hadn’t until just recently, I’m so glad to have been introduced to them through One2One Network. You have probably heard their song ‘Kandi’, it’s currently the #1 adult alternative song and has been for four weeks! If not you should really check out the Kandi video on You Tube, I love it! The video has been on MTV, VH1 and other popular music channels, it can also be heard on the prime-time drama show ‘BONES’!

The band is fronted by singer-songwriter Kristian Leontiou and includes musicians Pete Rinaldi on guitar, Jamie Sefton on bass/horns and Adam Falkner rockin’ the drums. In 2009 One eskimO performed for over 300,000 people in the United States and United Kingdom while openeing for Tori Amos, Bob Schneider and Gomez. This year they will be opening for Michael Franti and Spearhead during their May/June/July 2010 tour.

One eskimO is a new kind of sound for me. They’re quirky yet relatable. Kristian Leontiou’s voice is clear, smooth and relaxing. I can actually feel my body slowly open up to let go of the day’s worries and revel in the gorgeous vocals and instruments. LOVE the horns! It reaches in and mellows your soul. I love how each song tells a little story, paints a scene in your imagination and draws you in. After listening to the album several times in a row I was so completely and totally relaxed. You know how you feel when you finally get to sit down after a long hard day, that moment when you sigh and think “AHHH, I can just be”? That’s how it made me feel. I liked it. I think if you enjoy soulful, melodic, sexy music then you’ll love One eskimO. Like the words in ‘Astronauts’ – You’re floating away. It helps you breathe :) I had planned on giving the album away after the review but after falling in love with them I’m sorry I just can’t part with it! You’ll have to go get your own!
