Easy Drop Biscuits Recipe

easy-drop-biscuits
I love having some kind of bread with almost every dinner. It may not be the best practice when you’re trying to eat better but bread is my treat! These biscuits are a good quick addition to a pot of potato soup or beef stew.

Recipe type: bread
Serves: 8
Ingredients
  • 1½ cups all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup whole wheat flour
  • 1 Tbs. baking powder
  • 2 tsp. white sugar
  • ½ tsp. cream of tartar
  • ¼ tsp. salt
  • ½ cup melted butter
  • 1 cup milk
Instructions
  1. Preheat oven to 450 degrees.
  2. In a large bowl combine the flours, baking powder, sugar, cream of tartar and salt. Slowly stir in melted butter and milk just until moistened.
  3. Drop by the Tbs. onto lightly greased cookie sheet.
  4. Bake until golden brown about 8 to 12 minutes.
Notes

I use my large Pampered Chef scooper to form even biscuits that drop right out!
I also use my Pampered Chef Large round stone. It makes the biscuits crisp on the outside, moist and flaky on the inside!
Sometimes I stir in 1 Tbs. of ground flax or wheat germ for a bit of crunch and nuttiness.
