Publisher’s book description: “In One Hundred Butterflies, photographer Harold Feinstein showcases butterfly varieties from around the world, turning exquisite details into mesmerizing works of art. Feinstein’s breathtaking photographs capture the color, vibrancy, and infinite variety of patterns that occur on the wings of these ornate insects. One hundred impeccably reproduced, oversized photographs allow viewers to appreciate the Blue Morpho of Central America, the African Birdwing, and the Asian Swallowtail at a scale and depth impossible to experience in nature.”

My View
When this book arrived at my door I was stunned at the size and quality! Measuring a large 11″ x 13″ One Hundred Butterflies makes a grand statement on your coffee table or book shelf. I knew immediately that I would treasure these beautiful images. i love butterflies and there are so many in this book that I have never before laid eyes on, let alone knew existed! Each Butterfly is showcased on its own page against a black background. The colors and patterns that leap out from the pages are almost unbelievable. Is it really possible for such small ilving creatures to hold such beauty? Yes! The author has captured each one in its perfection and I am thankful for that!

I loved catching Pie and Super Genius in a daddy/daughter moment. They were really entranced by so many varieties and colors of butterflies! A few of my favorites are the Glass Swallowtail (pg 47), Pearly Malachite (pgs 58, 59), Indian Leaf (pgs 92, 93), Jezebel (pg 97), Blue Glassy Tiger (pg 115) and Glasswing (pg124). I was glad to show my new treasure to my cousin Amanda, she exclaimed when she saw it and also greatly enjoyed leafing through. A friend who stopped by for a visit took a look and was impressed with how clear each image was. She thought they were beautiful enough to frame and I agree 100%.

I believe this art book would make a fabulous gift for any nature, flower, butterfly or art lover. It speaks to you through its gorgeous images, small bits of poetry and inspirational literary quotes that are sprinkled throughout its pages. I highly recommend it!

That books sounds wonderful. My oldest daughter loves butterflies and that's just the type of "grown up" book she'd treasure. All of my kids are into some type of bug for some reason. I don't know about the cost though. I may have to add this to my wishlist so I don't forget and make a note to come back here and buy it through your link. Not unless you are feeling the urge to send me your copy. :)

I love that picture of the daddy/daughter moment. So sweet.

I too was a little taken back by the cost, it was $50.00 inside the front cover, that's a bit much. I was glad to see it for around $30.00 on Amazon. I'm sure with some searching it could even be found cheaper somewhere! I think your daughter would enjoy it if she loves butterflies! I think I'd have to pry it out of Pie's (and mine!) hands, sorry!
