Tropical Traditions Gold Label Virgin Coconut Oil Review

Tropical Traditions Virgin Coconut OilI was recently able to review Tropical Traditions Gold Label Virgin Coconut Oil and a book entitled “Virgin Coconut Oil: How it has changed people’s lives and how it can change yours! by Brian and Marianita Shilhavy”! I had no idea what to expect since I had never heard of or used coconut oil before. I was very pleasantly surprised!

About Tropical Traditions
from the jar label

Tropical traditions Gold Label Virgin Coconut Oil is made from organic, fresh coconuts in rural areas of the Philippines. Only the highest quality organic coconuts are hand selected for use in our Gold Label brand, and the pure coconut water inside the coconut is used to extract the coconut milk using traditional methods. Small scale family businesses produce this oil in small batches, taking great care and pride in their work. All aspects of the production, including packaging, are certified organic according to the strictest standards. This product has been tested repeatedly in laboratories to show that it contains the highest amounts of antioxidants available in Virgin Coconut Oil, earning our designation as Gold Label Standard. Tropical Traditions was the first company to export Virgin Coconut Oil to of the Philippines and continues to set a standard today for the finest available.

My View

I have loved eating it cold and right off the spoon! It tastes so good and creamy and melts in your mouth with no weird aftertaste. YUM! Coconut oil is also really tasty in many beverages, I sometimes add a tablespoon into my morning coffee instead of creamer. Lots of people say it’s good on toast and I agree! Smear it on there instead of butter, you’ll love it! It makes it taste extra good and gives a little energy boost in the morning before Jazzercise class.

I’ve also been using the oil as a moisturizer for my hands. I have very dry skin and since using the oil I have noticed a difference in the softness of my hands. It isn’t greasy at all, it rubs in nicely and a little goes a long way! As an added bonus my hands smell great! I think I will try it on my face next since I have a dry T zone.

For a quick after dinner treat I melted 1-2 Tbs coconut oil with a cup or so of semi-chocolate chips then drizzled over store bought fortune cookies and chilled. The kids and hubby gobbled them up! I had a bit of the chocolate/oil mixture left so I mixed it with some walnuts and stored in the fridge for those late night snack attacks :)

If you wonder how you can use Coconut oil in cooking like I did then don’t worry! Visit FreeCoconutRecipes.com to get started. Once you see all the possibilities you’ll be dreaming up your own creations in no time! I loved Tiera’s Oat Cakes, Joy’s No-Bake Cookies and I plan on making Ken’s Pilgrim’s Passion recipe for Thanksgiving, I can’t wait!

Virgin Coconut oil is rich in lauric acid, a nutrient that supports the body’s immune system. Lauric acid is also found in human mother’s milk. Dr. Mary Enig suggests the average adult include about 3.5 tablespoons of coconut oil per day in their diet to take in an equivalent amount of lauric acid that a nursing infant would receive from breast milk.
I thought this was very interesting.
